During the months of January, February, and March, Matt Peake and Friends will offer the following dancing opportunities: Winter Swing/Waltz Dances: Once per month, our DJ extraordinaire, Clarke Eastman, will play swing music from the last 100 years, along with some waltzes to provide a little variety. Dances are on Thursday evenings from 7 to 9. Cost is $10 for the two-hour period of dancing. No experience necessary. No partner needed. And... Mixed Rhythm Class and Dance: Every week, when there is no Swing/Waltz Dance, we will offer a class in either Swing, Waltz, or Rumba, and follow that with a continuous playlist of repeating genres of music with Swing/ Waltz/ Latin for the remainder of the class time. Classes and Dances are on Thursday evenings from 7 to 9. Cost is $10 for the two-hour period of class/dancing. Classes are mixed levels—no experience required No partner necessary for Lessons or Swing Dances $10 per person per Lesson $10 per person for the Swing/Waltz Dances. Wear shoes with clean, dry soles in which you can pivot on a wooden floor. Following the lesson, music will be played for practice. Appropriate for absolute beginners, and those wanting to brush up their skills. All welcome. Walking in the Theater: Come enjoy the heat of the MSA’s theater space for winter walking. Mondays @ 11:15 - fee $1 donation; dancers free. Bring shoes with clean, dry soles that will not mark a wooden floor and in which you can comfortably pivot. Please change footwear in the hallway prior to coming into the auditorium. All proceeds for dancers and walkers go to MSA. |
