Trying To Rebuild. Education Space Reconstruction.
The reconstruction has been slow going.
|
In February of 2018, during an extreme cold snap, a sprinkler was damaged resulting in extensive flooding underneath our stage in the theater drenching the two floors below with over 600 gallons of water. The majority of the damage was centered on the kitchen and art studio/education room, which were gutted and are now in the beginning stages of repair. During the process of cleanup, as walls and ceilings were opened, it became apparent that the building would also require some substantial structural reinforcement. MSA prioritized these structural improvements: allocating funds for the necessary architectural assessments, designs and construction.
There is still a considerable amount of work and cost allocation involved in completing the reconstruction of both the kitchen and the art studio/education space. At this time, partial funds have been secured for phases of the reconstruction.
MSA is reaching out for grants, funding, in-kind material donations, and volunteers to help during the construction. Please let us know if you can help.
