Big Woods Voices
Sunday, May 21st at 4pm
It's spring, the world is opening up, and we have missed singing for you: our friends, neighbors, and fellow New Englanders.
May 2023 brings one of our first concerts since February 2020. While we took a long pause from performing, we continued to
rehearse, and in early December 2021 (between Delta and Omicron, for those keeping track), we seized the moment and
recorded an album of Will's original arrangements of poetry. The result is our new album, Big Woods Voices: Poetry in
Harmony , featuring fifteen of Will's beautiful, original three- and four-part a cappella arrangements of poetry.
On Sunday, May 21 at 4:00 pm, we will perform songs from our new album at Main St. Arts in Saxtons River, VT, plus some
seasonal favorites such as “Spring” and “Mud.” Tickets are $20, available online and at the door. Please be advised that masks are required for this concert.
Will is an award-winning, multi-instrumental solo acoustic artist with a convenient passion for arranging a cappella harmony
pieces. Alan is a longtime member of many area singing groups, including the Blanche Moyse Chorale, I Cantori, Blue Moon,
and House Blend. Becky is enjoying another season as director of the Brattleboro Women’s Chorus,. Amanda is a song
leader who founded and co-hosted the popular Brattleboro Pub Sing with Tony Barrand and sings harmony locally in various
musical constellations. As a quartet, we explore the beauty and challenge of a cappella harmony, favoring poetry set to music
and songs that delight us personally and musically. We hope you will come and share our joy!
