Rooted in ancestral tradition—and also deeply relevant to modern music—the course uses drumming and instruments to introduce participants to the polyrhythms and groove concepts that underpin jazz, funk, gospel, and contemporary popular music. More than a music lesson, it is an opportunity to build skills, connect with others, and experience first-hand how cultural exchange enriches a community.
The classes will run weekly for six weeks from 3:45-4:45 PM (children) and from 5:00 to 6:30 PM (Teens & Adults). Drop-ins are welcome.
