Annual Kids Craft Bazaar
Each year, Main Street Arts sponsors a series of craft production workshops in the fall to prepare for the Kids Craft Bazaar. The children produce a large variety of useful items, which may be purchased for holiday gift giving. Some notable staples include: pin-cushions, jewelry, candles, earring holders, birthday calendars, bird houses, paper weights, refrigerator magnets, key chains, note cards, pencil holders, pot holders and small toys.
The Bazaar is a kids-only event held in early December. Very small children are encouraged to bring a list of family members for whom they are shopping and are helped by older children to choose appropriate gifts. Pieces are all reasonably priced, and $5 usually covers the cost, and gift wrapping is provided free of charge. The result is that the children leave the Bazaar with wrapped and tagged packages and that proud feeling that comes with their first independent shopping experience!
