Isaiah is the youngest member ever to join the cooperative. He brings wooden puzzles to add to the wide variety of crafts in this well established shop which carries the work of about 50 craftspeople. Only twelve years old, Isaiah has been working with a scroll saw since he was eight, using wood harvested from family property and milled by an uncle at his saw mill. Starting with simple wooden toys, he has moved on to create rather intricate puzzles, mostly using animal shapes. The wooden pieces all fit together beautifully, with some animal shapes having smaller animals within them. Having been home schooled for the past two years has given Isaiah the time to focus on his craft, and even teach the skill to others. He has earned enough money from the sale of his work to purchase a professional scroll saw which has enabled him to work on thicker pieces of wood and to do more intricate work. When asked about the types of wood, he replied that he uses mostly oak, maple, cherry and pine. In addition to woodworking, Isaiah is interested in mechanics, gardening, and yard work and is available for hire.
